In The News
The Starfish Trail is officially up and running - we are actively fundraising to get to £18,000 to ensure this project actually happens. It is mad how many people we need to be in contact with from East Riding Planning Department for the wall mounted starfish, through to convincing businesses to take part of sponsor a starfish! In order to promote the sculpture trail and get our community fully onboard we have been fortunate enough to be working with the Hornsea & District Community News, BBC Humberside and the Holderness and Hornsea Gazette. These amazing businesses have continued to support us and help continue to raise the profile of the starfish.
There are links to community funding options available on our website - which members of the Hornsea Collective, as well as the wider Hornsea community have used to donate towards our fundraising goals. We have been totally overwhelmed with the support from individuals, as well local businesses and everyone will be on our guest list for our launch event in January 2026 as a ‘thank you’!
As our starfish sculptures are wall mounted, it has been a bit of a challenge for our community to actually visualise what they will look like. It was a challenge we wanted to overcome and in stepped Harvey Beck, a 3D designer who managed to ‘bring to life’ our vision through a series of realistic images we have shared via our website, social media posts and in news articles. It has genuinely made a difference and we have seen an increase in individual donations - THANK YOU!
