“We were delighted to get involved with the Starfish Galaxy project because we believe it's exactly the kind of initiative that makes Hornsea such a special place to live and visit.
As a local business, we're passionate about supporting projects that bring our community together. The Starfish Trail will encourage people to explore every corner of the town, discover local independent businesses and spend time in our shops, cafés, bars and attractions. It's also a fantastic way to give families a fun, free activity that everyone can enjoy together, creating lasting memories while celebrating everything Hornsea has to offer. We hope it encourages more visitors to discover our town, enjoy everything it has to offer and help support the local economy for years to come.
Choosing Helen Gill's Hornsea Pottery design was an easy decision for us. Hornsea Pottery is one of the town's most iconic landmarks and holds a special place in so many people's hearts. Like many local families, we have wonderful childhood memories of spending time there—browsing the pottery shops, bouncing on the trampolines, enjoying something to eat and drink, and making a real day of it with family and friends. Helen's design beautifully captures that sense of nostalgia and celebrates an important part of Hornsea's history and identity, making it the perfect choice for our starfish.
We're incredibly proud to be part of the Starfish Galaxy project and can't wait to see families and visitors following the trail, discovering the sculptures and enjoying everything our wonderful town has to offer.” Laura Firth
