‘Starflower’

ARTIST: Charlotte Eldred

Charlotte is a Hornsea-based artist and couldn’t imagine calling anywhere else home. She’s passionate about supporting and celebrating our town of Hornsea and believes it’s a truly special community to be part of.

“Nature has always inspired my artwork, especially flowers. I’m drawn to their vivid colours, bold shapes and natural symmetry. When I considered this starfish project, I immediately thought of flowers - both are vibrant, varied and often overlooked parts of their ecosystems.

I’d be honoured to contribute to The Starfish Galaxy sculpture trail, a creative and inspiring project that showcases the unique charm of our seaside town. The sculpture trail will be a fantastic, free activity for both the local community, as well as our visitors - encouraging creativity, promoting wellbeing and supporting Hornsea’s brilliant independent small businesses.”

“I wanted to be involved with the Starfish Galaxy Sculpture Trail because I care deeply about our little town and love supporting anything that helps Hornsea shine. I’m excited to help showcase the creativity and talent we have here, and to be part of something that brings people together.

I’m thrilled that New Beginnings is part of this project. Art connects communities in such a special way, and it’s a real pleasure that our beautiful old building will host one of these wonderful sculptures — a lovely way to celebrate Hornsea, its creative spirit, and the pride we all share in it.”
